storyboard
The yuri in our opening title sequence is 'the bringer of death' mysteriously wondering around the house with a dark haunting presence. We can use the darkness of low key lighting in our shots to enhance our horror name 'The Hidden' this shading can also be used to create a spooky surrounding and add suspense.
Low angle shots will show the audience that the Yuri is looking over the girl but still being hidden in the darkness. We believe that using this type of shot is a good idea because it demonstrates the power the yuri has over the girl whilst looking down at her. Using the barrier infront of her represents the feeling of being trapped inside, this is giving relation between the story of the Yuri.
We used a candle to represents life and death in our sequence. The light shines whilst the girl is alive but is flickering to show fear and danger. Where the light blows out it creates a darkness around it. The candle blowing out addresses the audience of the inevitable fatal end.
Shadows give a good effect of being hidden. We can use them in order to add a mystery asset to our film. We think this may be good for our opening sequence because sometimes what is unknown can be scarier than what can be seen and our film is based around this idea.
Using a shot like this will give a mysterious outlook on the story as the lighting on the face of our yuri is half bright half dark. This shows us that there's a good side and a bad side of the yuri's past life which is causing her to react the way she is, killing people may be the only way to set herself free.
